Upcoming Writing Workshops
Writing Through Fear.png
Writing nonfiction, particularly when it entails a story from our own experience, can be a frightening endeavor. As we enter into "spooky season," my hope is to scare the monsters from under those literary beds and create an environment in which you, as writers, can feel supported and motivated in crafting your personal stories

In this four-part class we'll explore the art and magic of the personal essay  in a collaborative and supportive environment. Together, we will read a variety of short nonfiction in order to identify specific genres, techniques, literary devices, use of language, etc. Then, we will begin to develop and create our own pieces of nonfiction utilizing the techniques identified in classic and contemporary texts. Finally, we will thoughtfully workshop one another's work in an effort to support and inspire each other as writers, culminating in a reading of our work in literary salon fashion!

With an emphasis on discovery and fun, you will be encouraged to try new things and new voices in your work. No previous experience necessary!
